About TEfA

In 2014, Alex Hopwood founded rpmUK and over the following eight years, had the opportunity to work with hundreds of students, families and professionals. During this time she honed her skills, led professional mentorships, trained teachers and adapted practises for the UK. She identified the need for tailored programmes that supported families to access stream-lined learning.

In 2023, the company moved to its new home and changed its name to Transforming Education for Autism (TEfA), aligning with its expanded vision and broader objectives. We were delighted to train and take on Ellie, our new team member, to help deliver our range of programmes and work with a small provider network in the UK.

Ultimately, TEfA aims to bring about a transformative shift in the landscape of education for autistic individuals where their true capabilities are realised.

At TEfA, we're a passionate team of two, both trained in CtS. The primary aim of our services is to ensure families have access to quality support and learning. Through our work with L.E.A’s and the NHS, we are privileged to be supported by a diverse group of professionals, including teachers, Speech Therapists, Child Development Specialists, Sensory Integration Therapists, and Educational Psychologists. We regularly work with providers in Birmingham too.

Our Missions

At Transforming Education for Autism, we're dedicated to unlocking the true potential of autistic individuals by equipping them with essential education and skill-building tools.

Our missions are to:

  • Transform education through recognising CtS as a learning, movement and communication tool. We will continue to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, engage with research and develop training programmes (we are currently finalising our school programme, suitable for schools in the UK and Ireland).

  • Empower more autistic individuals, families and professionals to learn CtS. That’s what it’s all about! In particular, we are committed to evolving our family support, we recognise that parents are their child’s greatest resource and life-time advocate.

  • Provide a range of opportunities for connection, collaboration and community. We are stepping up a gear in 2024 to put on more online and in-person events for our students!

  • Reach more families, increase training professionals while protecting standards. Ensuring that autistic individuals receive best practices is a top priority for us. We are committed to a robust training system and a responsible growth plan.
